Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has entered the history books by becoming the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket. She achieved the landmark during India’s Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong, producing a stunning 124-run innings.
Mandhana’s explosive knock came from just 64 deliveries and included 14 fours and seven sixes. Her innings helped India post a strong total of 193 for five and secured a comfortable victory over Hong Kong.
With this performance, Mandhana moved past former India captain Mithali Raj, who previously held the record with 10,868 international runs. Mandhana’s career tally reached 10,880 runs across formats, making her the new No. 1 on the women’s international run-scoring list.
The achievement was even more special because Mandhana also registered her 18th international century. She moved ahead of Australia’s Meg Lanning and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who have 17 centuries each, to become the leading century-maker in women’s international cricket.
Mandhana, who made her India debut in 2013, dedicated the historic achievement to her family. Her record-breaking performance further strengthens her position as one of the most successful batters in women’s cricket.
