Imphal: Bus services in Manipur are set to recommence on Saturday, following the restoration of unrestricted movement on all roadways. Security escorts will be provided by the central armed police forces, as indicated in a statement from the chief secretary of the state.
The statement noted, “For the information of the general public, the state government has organized bus services operated by Manipur State Transport Buses, accompanied by CAPF escorts, as part of efforts to restore normalcy in the state. This service will commence on 08-03-2025 at 9:00 am from Imphal Airport.”
The buses will operate on the following routes: Imphal-Kangpokpi-Senapati, Senapati-Kangpokpi-Imphal, Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur, and Churachandpur-Bishnupur-Imphal, thereby serving the Meitei, Kuki, and Naga communities.
Additionally, the statement emphasized that the state government has previously announced the initiation of helicopter services under the Manipur Heli Service.
The public is encouraged to utilize both the bus and helicopter services for their transportation needs. Furthermore, the statement warned that any individual found to be obstructing the operation of the MST buses will face legal action in accordance with applicable laws.
