Indian security forces executed coordinated operations across various districts in Manipur, resulting in the seizure of 114 weapons, explosives, and military supplies. These operations, informed by intelligence, focused on regions including Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, Chandel, Senapati, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Imphal East, Thoubal, and Imphal West.
On Friday, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Manipur Police, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police, conducted these joint operations.
The recovered items included a diverse array of 114 weapons, such as rifles, carbines, and pistols, alongside grenades, improvised explosive devices, and additional military equipment. Notably, bunkers located in the Kangpokpi district were also dismantled.
In the Bishnupur district, the forces retrieved seven weapons, comprising two carbines, two pistols, two rifles, and one improvised mortar. Meanwhile, in Chandel district, a search operation yielded 55 weapons, which included 12-bore single-barrel rifles, muzzle-loaded rifles, an improvised shotgun, 32 improvised mortars, and four explosive devices.
The ongoing operations in Manipur aim to recover illicit weapons and explosives, with authorities confirming that the latest actions were driven by precise intelligence.
