Imphal, July 17, 2025: The appointments committee of the cabinet has appointed Punit Kumar Goel as the new chief secretary of Manipur. The transition was approved on Tuesday, report. Meanwhile, the outgoing chief secretary Prashant Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new secretary of the national commission for scheduled tribes. Singh will succeed Punit Kumar Goel in the role.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Prashant Kumar Singh, IAS (MN:1993) as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. He succeeds Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS (AGMUT:1991).
